To celebrate the 2023 Asian Heritage Month, pianist Jialiang Zhu and her friends present The Power of Words, a Chinese music and poetry-inspired recital. Jialiang calls Toronto her home, where she met all the featured Canadian artists on this program, including soprano Zi Xin Emily Lapin, composers David Jaeger and Roydon Tse, and poets Kathryn Knowles and Edith Yang Qing. As their friendship blossomed, their mutual appreciation and admiration for each other’s artistry also grew. The Power of Words program showcases a stunning array of talents and cultural heritage of each artist. You will hear songs and poetry in English, Chinese, French, and German, written between the 12th century and the current day. There also will be live poetry recitation by Knowles and Yang along with Jialiang’s piano improvisation.

Come experience The Power of Words as we celebrate the Asian Heritage Month! This is a perfect gift for you and your loved ones, and the assembly of talents, creativity, and beauty will surely blow you away!
