Description: Piano Lunaire honours those who have been lost to the COVID-19 pandemic, and those who continue to suffer with illness. Join us in Toronto, on Tuesday, October 4th at 7:30pm (at the Canadian Music Centre). The programme is highlighted by the work of rising star associate composer, Liam Ritz. His Nine Forgotten Variations for solo piano were commissioned by Piano Lunaire and the Brantford Music Club in 2021 with support from the Ontario Arts Council; we are thrilled to finally premiere this exquisite new work for keyboard. Also on the programme: piano music from the traditional canon alongside Adam Sherkin’s Aubades in Memoriam, featuring music dedicated to long-time patrons and supporters of PL who passed away during the COVID-19 pandemic.
