SUMMARY:Ensemble Silakbo - Est-Ouest
DESCRIPTION:5 NOV TICKETS\n7 NOV TICKETS\n  \n  \nEst-Ouest \nEst-Ouest is a presentation of contemporary music inspired by the folk traditions of both Canada and Bulgaria\, processed through the aesthetic visions of composers Svetlin Hristov (BG)\, Adam Vincent Clarke (CA) & Liam Elliot (CA) who\, on the commission of the Silakbo Ensemble\, composed three new works. The folk traditions of each other’s country served as the source material and inspiration for the musical creation. The concept is to connect foreign traditions\, to find how they diverge or interconnect\, whether that be by melody\, rhythm\, dress\, dance\, lyrics\, or instruments\, and apply it to modern classical artistic practices so as to honour the traditions explored. \nPerformed by: Ensemble Silakbo: Mikko Pablo (PH/USA) violoncello\, Adam Vincent Clarke (CA) Bulgarian bagpipes\, Angelina-Ogniana Gotcheva (BG) clarinet\, Yoanna Bozhkova (BG) soprano\, Bogdan Ivanov (BG) piano\, Edgar Gomes (PT)\, violin \nWith works by: Adam Vincent Clarke\, Svetlin Hristov\, Liam Elliot
